MICHAEL JACKSON has become a Muslim - and changed his name to Mikaeel.
The skint superstar, 50, donned Islamic garb to pledge allegiance to the Koran in a ceremony at a pal’s mansion in Los Angeles, The Sun can reveal.
Jacko sat on the floor wearing a tiny hat after an Imam was summoned to officiate - days before the singer is due to appear at London’s High Court where he is being sued by an Arab sheik.
A source told last night how Jacko, brought up as a Jehovah’s Witness, decided to convert as he used a studio at the home of his chum to record a new album.
The star - whose hits include The Way You Make Me Feel - was spotted looking “a bit down” by a producer and a songwriter who had both embraced Islam.

Gerrard seals easy win
Liverpool survived a test of character at Bolton to maintain their challenge at the top of the Premier League with a 2-0 win at the Reebok Stadium.
The disappointment of the Carling Cup defeat at Tottenham in midweek was swept away by what eventually turned out to be a convincing victory.
Liverpool have never enjoyed Bolton’s physical approach but this time they stuck to their gameplan and won with fine goals from Dirk Kuyt and Steven Gerrard.
Kuyt opened the scoring from Fabio Aurelio’s cross before Gary Cahill’s header was controversially ruled out by referee Rob Styles.
Despite some more nervous moments, the Reds eventually sealed victory when Gerrard headed in substitute Fernando Torres’ cross.

Rafa Benitez today warned Liverpool’s Premier League rivals that Fernando Torres could return stronger than ever after an enforced rest.
The one silver lining of a hamstring tear sustained on international duty is that Torres has benefitted from the kind of break he didn’t get in the summer due to Euro 2008.
Benitez said: “Having him back fitter and stronger than before can have a massive effect on this team and help Liverpool a great deal.
“It is true we were worried about his fitness when he came back after the summer and after such a long season he was not at his best level. But now he has had a rest and we are hoping to bring him back ready to play to his true level. We have managed to win in his absence and keep pace in the league and now we have Torres back fitter and stronger, so it has been a good period for us.”
El Nino could make his first start since October 5 at White Hart Lane in the fourth round of the Carling Cup tonight in a bid to gain match fitness.
Benitez added: “Torres back means we can change players and give them the rest they need. It will help them all get to the top level they are capable of.
“When you consider that we are getting good results without our players being at their top level, the return of Torres at his best can have a big impact.”

Premier League takeover broker Keith Harris believes Liverpool could go into financial meltdown in January and might be forced to sell up.
Harris, who has masterminded deals for Chelsea, Aston Villa, Hull City, West Ham United and Manchester
The Anfield
City and is currently seeking buyers for Newcastle United and Everton, claims that the Reds could be severely affected by the global credit crunch.
Bickering Liverpool owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett have two months to pay back a reported
£350million worth of debt and with refinancing packages and new financial stakeholders getting harder and harder to find the Merseyside club might have to offload star players to pay off the debt.
The worse case scenario would be for the banks to consider repossessing the club if the payments cannot be met.
Harris, chairman of Seymour Pierce investment bank and a former Football League chairman, has also admitted that Everton and Newcastle are no closer to finding a buyer.

Finally, the love between Ashraf Sinclair and Bunga Citra Lestari was united in the afternoon last Saturday (November 8, 2008) at Masjid Al-Bina, Senayan, Jakarta, Indonesia.
This couple was safe ‘di ijab Kabulkan’ around 4 o’clock with ‘Mas Kawin’ of diamond earring weighing 1.5 carats as well as 25 delivery trays.
Flashed back to their love story, the actor of the Goal & Gincu said, they are not treated well. This is because, their love story had been stricken by the controversy pictures, the two of them were fondling each other and the pictures had been circulated in the Internet around August last year.
However, finally their love stood firm with the God’s blessing. Best wishes to both of them and live happily ever after!

Two goals from Robbie Keane helped to secure a 3-0 win for Liverpool against West Bromwich Albion.
Keane gave Rafael Benitez his 150th victory as Liverpool manager as the Anfield club moved back to the top of the Barclays Premier League.
The striker, who had managed to score only twice previously since his summer move from Tottenham Hotspur - both in the Champions League - finally broke his league duck when he drove home from a Steven Gerrard pass in the 34th minute.
Keane’s second came when he rounded Scott Carson a couple of minutes before the break and Alvaro Arbeloa added the gloss in injury time.

President-elect Obama won North Carolina on Thursday, a triumph that underscored his political strength as he turned nine states that President Bush won in 2004 to Democratic blue.
The Associated Press declared Obama the winner after canvassing counties in North Carolina to determine the number of outstanding provisional ballots. That survey found that there are not enough remaining ballots for Republican John McCain to close a 13,693-vote deficit.
North Carolina’s 15 electoral votes brings Obama’s total to 364 - nearly 100 more than necessary to win the White House - to McCain’s 162. Missouri is the only state that remains too close to call, with McCain leading by several thousand votes.
Obama’s win in North Carolina was the first for a Democratic presidential candidate since Jimmy Carter won the state in 1976.
Of Bush’s 2004 states, Obama captured Virginia, Florida and North Carolina in the South, Ohio, Indiana and Iowa in the Midwest and Colorado, Nevada and New Mexico in the West. All total, Obama has won 28 states and the District of Columbia, McCain 21.
